| well amigos, sorry its been so long since I've posted, I guess its because I've been spending my late nights elsewhere ( talking to Brian) , and not on xanga... which is probably a good thing!
Went backpacking on south manitou island out in lake michigan last weekend with all the fam and cousins... what a great time let me say... and exhausting to say the least! Good memories were made and lost of campfireness! Went swimming in waves that were as big as the ocean and got sick, but I am feeling better now!
Went boutique shopping around town today and found a few good deals, it was a fun time, then went grocery shopping and made dinner for the family... what a quality day! Oh yea and I ran five miles this morning and went to the gym, feels good to be getting back in shape!
So right now I am sitting on my phone on hold because I ordered a ticket to NYC to visit Brian in a couple weeks and I need to change the time, its kind of a pain because the lady doesn't speak no good english and i ain't understanding her talk. Anyways im real excited to be going out to Manhattan and going on some sweet dates in the city! I am looking forward to spending quality time with an awesome man in the Lord. What a blessing I have recieved, I cannot even explain.
xoxo

| SO BASICALLY I MET MAT KEARNEY TODAY! And not only did I meet him but he is the one who talked me to! Ok so let me tell the story...
I was flying to minneapolis from Denver on a super super full airplane, and as I was pretty much sleeping because it was 6:25 am I saw a guy come onto the airplane with a guitar... didn't really think anything of it except that he was prolly a big shot;) So I fell asleep and when we got to Minneapolis I went to my gate for Grand Rapids. I sat down and waited and as seat ro was called I saw this guy with his guitar again. He was right in front of me and we were walking to the airplane together. When he got to the door he stopped because he was carrying so much crap and had to get it together, so I was just standing there not knowing if I should cut in front of him like an impatient person would, or if I should just wait til he goes ahead. He noticed I was waiting and he looked at me and smiled and he was like "After you, miss" and i kinda laughed and was like OK. And as I was walking he was like "So, CSU huh?" (that is what my shirt said) and I was like "Yea, Colorado State University, did you go there or something?", and he was like " No actually, I just played a show in Boulder, where is CSU?", and I say "Oh that is awesome, well Its about an hour from Denver" and by this time I was at my seat and I turned around to look at him and I as like Gosh who is this guy, and he was putting his guitar away and he walked by and smiled at me and then that was that. And So I was at the bag claim and he was there this some old lady ( his manager I presume) waiting for him luggage, and he smiled at me again as I was leaving and that is how I met Mat Kearney! THe funniest part was that Connie and Randi described him to me today because they were going to go see him tonight, and I was like yea I think it might have been him, and sure enough it was!!! So there ya go girls, it was him all along! I am just blown away, what a day!
So yea I haven't updated in a while but I wanted to say that I was in Colorado for the past 4 days and it was so amazing. The conference I went to was fun, and just so motivational. I really have learned a lot about discovering God's will for my life, and really seeking after that. I met some amazing people that are on fire for the Lord and had a lot of time to bond with the girls. Aaron took us 6 ladies including Laurel up to the mountains on Sunday... what a ladies man!
So basically I have an updated Student Venture Top Five Staff Males List so check it out:
5.)Ken Mentz/Keith Ray Indianapilis and Cinci SV- Keith definately has been putting a lot of quality time in with the Venture Corps group and calls me by name other than just the "michigan girls", big in my book and he has sweet kids and such an awesome wife. Ken is like another Mike Riley to us in michigan, he just has to be on the list.
4.)Jeff Hansel, Cincinatti Ohio- High School SV and Getaway Director. The only reason he is not higher on the list is beacuse we didn't get to spend very much time together in Colorado, But he used to be my number one, I love this guy, and he rides a motorcycle.
3.)Brian Clark from Indianapolis IN- Carmel High School SV- Brian will always be up there on my list, he could never be number one though, because he is Adrienne's number one. This guy is just amazing, an outfit complimentor, really know how to make a lady feel good and is just a hilarious guy.
2.)Mark Michael from Indianapolis IN- High School SV- You may be surprised to see Mark ahead of Brian at this point in the race, but a few reasons why he has been bumped up from spot 3, to 2. He screamed and yelled and gave me a huge hug when he saw me in CO, hugs aren't typical from Staff of another city. He sat at our table and poured coke on nate, and made me laugh harder than I can remember laughing ever... He ruined every serious situation, and was kissing little Gabe and taking care of him this weekend, the father figure suits him well. He cheered on his wife in a food eating contest, this man is amazing.
1.) Warren Bane from Atlanta Georga- Venture Corps Director and former North Carolina Cheerleader, this man is awesome and I can't imagine anyone else taking over the throne of number one staff man, I love you Warren!
So Check out my pictures here: http://community.webshots.com/user/puckprincess144 So go looky looky!
I love you my grand rapids kiddies, Matt left work so we could meet up for lunch, thanks buddy you're the greatest, and I met up with randi and connie afterwords and talked for a while which was so nice because I miss those ladies! Ok I have to go unpack but I love ya'll!!!!

| We make our decisions, and our decisions turn around and make us. If you go to UCLA, you won't go to Alabama or Penn State or anywhere else-at least not this year. Even if you think you might transfer next year, that won't be the same as going there this year. You can major in biology or buisiness administration- you can even take a double major if you like; but whichever path you take, you can't go back and be an eighteen year old college freshman again.
What a "stretching day" it was for me. Had an awesome conversation with sierra today while planning bible study, my patience was tested in watching 5 youngsters all afternoon, and was humbled as always while leading bible study tonight. But God is good and faithful through it all amen?
So Adam calls and to say he has to come tell me all about his day with Rob Bell yesterday and of course I want to hear all about it! He came over and I got to take a peek at the new Rob Bell book, and we just talked jesus for a couple hours... which was completely refreshing. So now its getting a little late to start laundry but I'm debating it... I have to pack for Colorado cause I leave in 2 days! Oh yea, i cleaned the kitchen and my parents were really happy:) Oh heck, i'm just gonna go do my laundry anyways, so i'll catch ya'll later.
PS: If anyone has any input or knowlege or advice about some colleges/universities with good theology or religion/ biblical studies programs let me know, i'm searching.
love you-mean it

| Hey ya'll! So my little friends from dallas came up to Leland today and are staying for 3 weeks... I am already picking up their accent... so cute! So today was a long day and now I am just feeling so lazy but it was so good. I forced myself out of bed this morning to go volunteer at the dental clinic and how awesome it was today! There was this little girl who was so scared, but I was able to calm her down and she trusted me and it was an amazing feeling! After that I worked out, and came home and took a power nap before racing over to leland to visit my kiddies from Dallas. I took Ellie and Walker to the beach and they are hilarious, Dawson was golfing so it wasn't as much of a handful. I worked at the crib 4-10, and work was wonderful because Crista and Mere came to see me! I always love it when people come and keep me company... it makes my day:) Sus, Ash and Matt also stopped in after work:) thanks guys! So I'm home now with a headache but its ok because I'm talking to smiles... millay, and connie:)
So I am getting so excited for Colorado, its going to be amazing. So 2 people asked me if I was transferring to Kings today! I can't believe it, it makes me want to go there, i LOVE NYC and kings is awesome, but unfortunately I'm not! As of right now I am a Michigan Girl, but who knows where I'll be next year! ;)
PS. Tim Allen came into the Crib 2 days ago and I sold him $31.80 worth of Crib "gear"... 2 candles and a keychain. Big spender huh.
I'm off to be lazy and watch tv so adios my chicas and chicos muah! | | |
